Frontwalker presents transformation award to Bankgirot
Bankgirot’s SEK Credit Transfer won the 2026 Tech Excellence Transformation of the Year award. Frontwalker AB, a partner of the Tech Excellence Awards, presented the award at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm on 1 October. “We want to recognise both the results and the people behind the transformation,” says Jesper Jacquet, Group CEO of Frontwalker AB.
The award was presented in conjunction with Dagens industri’s Tech Strategy Summit. The winners were chosen by an expert jury following a selection process conducted in collaboration with Accenture.
“Being told that the business is to be shut down – and responding by rebuilding it from the ground up. In 2.5 years, with operations continuing throughout and regulatory requirements to fulfil, new critical infrastructure was delivered following more than 170,000 hours of development. An undertaking that customers describe as the biggest change their market has ever seen,” reads the jury’s citation.
During the transformation, the organisation responsible for delivery grew from 80 to 250 people. Teams were empowered to make decisions in the face of uncertainty, with the backing of management. The new infrastructure was delivered as planned.
“Going from facing closure to full speed ahead – it feels incredible to be standing on this stage now! It has been challenging, but we have a fighting spirit. What a journey!” said Carina Olsson, CEO of Bankgirot, at the award ceremony.
The need to develop business-critical systems while keeping day-to-day operations running also arises regularly in Frontwalker’s work with clients.
